Dear Global Village,
"LIFE is a beautiful magnificent thing, even to a dragonfly", stated Chaplin.
I'm 17 years old and I care about the living planet. How to explain the fact that the most intellectual creature ever to walk planet Earth is destroying its only home? Perhaps a new type of thinking is essential if Mankind dreams to exist long?
Leonardo da Vinci said that "nothing deceives us as much as our own judgement". In the next few years, our social choices will influence the course of human life for multiple generations to come. So how about we quickly create new ways to sort the true from the false? And why don't we team up to "play fact-checking"?
Sometimes we have to view things from a distance in order to see the real truth. Every prejudice is a contagious disease, and fact-checking is the best antidote. For our social debates to work, we have to actually believe in an objective reality based on verified facts. Otherwise, there’s no basis for COOPERATION.
Our future vivaciously needs a fact-loving collective brain! To better protect Nature means to better protect ourselves. Whether we're left-wing or right-wing, our war on Nature must end.
For sure, a great love of facts will be needed to reconcile economy and ecology. So why don't we start living in the "fact-checking era" as of 2020?
Just like Elvis used to sing: "Viva Fact-Checking!" ♥
